Emma Humann
Soprano
About Me
Emma Humann is an American soprano who is currently studying for her Masters degree at the
Royal Academy of Music for Vocal Studies. This past winter, she performed Bach’s Magnificat
and Cantata 179, and in the summer she played Pamina in Keystone Opera’s production of The
Magic Flute. She went to Oberlin Conservatory where she received her Bachelor's degree in
Music. It was at Oberlin where she had her operatic debut as Fanchette in Offenbach’s Le
Mariage aux Lanternes. She also covered the role of Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel
for the Vienna Summer Music Festival in 2021. Particularly interested in acting, Emma has an
extensive background in musical theater which informs her approach to communicating through
different characters. She has performed in cities such as Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, Leipzig,
Dresden, London, Cleveland, and Philadelphia. She looks forward to playing the role of
Tormentilla in The New London Opera Group’s production of Vaughan Williams’ The Poisoned
Kiss.
